To raise awareness about the rate of veterans who die by suicide every day, Parchment United Methodist Church held a special service on Sunday at 10 a.m. to honor veterans.
“We take time to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” Parchment United Methodist Church Pastor Joe Shaler said at the service.
The church handed out wristbands to attendees that said “22 veterans a day” to recognize the 22 veterans a day that commit suicide. After the service, church members laid down a brick to remember a Parchment veteran who died by suicide…
