Flagship location of iconic Kansas City pizza chain is remodeled for 50th year

Celebrating 50 years since the opening of its flagship location, Minsky’s South Plaza has been newly remodeled, with everything from furniture to functionality in mind.

Originally a rental building with several businesses inside, 5105 Main St. became Minsky’s in 1976. After 50 years, it now has a dedicated bar area, brand-new carryout entrance, a quick seating area for those stopping in, new contemporary lighting, original artwork and refurbished bathrooms.

Through Sunday, customers at the South Plaza location can visit the renovated space and also get 20% off all dine-in orders. Firefighters, police officers, Emergency Medical Services and teachers can show their badge or credentials for 50% off their order.

Alongside what Minsky’s calls Kansas City Style pizza, customers can enjoy all-day happy hour this week — $4 domestic drafts, $5 premium and craft drafts, $5 well drinks and $5 wine by the glass.

Customers can also experience food fusions through a limited-time KC BBQ pizza collaboration with Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que or an al pastor pizza — both through Father’s Day, or until supplies last at each location…
