KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas spoke to reporters Tuesday, four days after an affiliate of the Missouri Workers Center turned in signatures to try to give residents in the city a chance to vote on an aspect of the stadium project for the Royals.
Currently, the city council’s the only group that would get to vote on more plans between the city and the team.

The plan the affiliate put forth Friday calls for a vote of the people on a stadium or arena that has material use by the city if it has more than 2,500 seats and is used by a for profit business.
