Independence woman sues City, officer after patrol vehicle collision in construction zone

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – A lawsuit claims an Independence police officer was looking at his in-car computer when he struck a driver who had pulled over to let him pass.

According to court records, the 30-year-old woman filed the suit in Jackson County Circuit Court on Tuesday, June 9. The defendants are the City of Independence and a named Independence police officer.
