(KODE/KSNF) — The Missouri Public Service Commission gave a thumbs up to one of the area’s largest utility companies to increase electric rates beginning August 3. The PSC says the company met its customer service and billing improvement requirements.

The Commission says Liberty (Empire District Electric) showed more than 99% compliance with customer service and billing performance metrics during January, February, and March of this year. Liberty was required to meet these benchmarks before they would be allowed to increase rates.
