SHAWNEE, Kan. — On this extraordinarily hot day in Kansas City, families packed up and headed to pools, aquatic centers, and area slash pads for some relief.
“Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the week,” Sheryl Gatica, visiting a Wyandotte County splash pad with a few of her grandkids said. “I want them to be able to play outside, but at the same time, it’s unbearable when you don’t have water.”
