Kansas is officially joining the growing group of states receiving their first Buc-ee’s. Construction is underway near Kansas Speedway, although drivers should be careful with any headline claiming an exact opening date.
The travel center is being built at 601 Village West Parkway in Kansas City, Kansas, just off Interstate 70 near the North 110th Street interchange. That places Buc-ee’s next to Kansas Speedway and close to Children’s Mercy Park, the Legends Outlets and one of the busiest visitor destinations in the state.
Plans call for a 74,000-square-foot store with 120 fueling positions, 12 electric-vehicle charging stations and at least 225 full-time jobs. The overall development has been valued at approximately $94.8 million.
The timeline has moved
Buc-ee’s broke ground in October 2025, with founder Arch “Beaver” Aplin III saying at the time that the company hoped to return for a ribbon cutting a little more than a year later. That pointed toward a late-2026 opening…
