Oak Park Mall owner proposes big additions in Overland Park. What’s in the works

The owners of the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park are proposing to reshape the mall with new space for restaurants, housing and the arts.

Documents filed with the city of Overland Park over the last few weeks show the mall’s owners plan to redevelop the 90-acre site into a mixed-use district with a series of changes to the area. The site’s owners have requested a rezoning of the mall area at the intersection of Quivira Road and West 95th Street and approval of a preliminary development plan for the project.
