A man is facing weapon and domestic assault charges following a domestic disturbance in Independence Monday night, during which investigators shot him.

Saul Maldonado faces charges of unlawful use of a weapon and domestic assault, according to a news release from Jazzlyn Johnson, director of communications for the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.
