KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Inside a small storefront on the edge of downtown Kansas City, Kansas, the whirr of sewing machines fills the room. Handmade goods are on display at the entrance. Step past the boutique and you will see women and men of all ages and backgrounds learning something that goes far beyond a craft.
The nonprofit is called Stitching Change.
“We are coming here to share stories, to learn from one another’s crafts that we bring from our culture, from our country,” said founder and Executive Director Rakmi Shaiza.
