Kansas City is getting a second location of a thrift store chain next week.
Thrift World, an Omaha-based organization, is opening a second Independence location at 17403 E US Hwy 24 on Sept. 14, the company announced in a Facebook post Tuesday.
Since 1996, Thrift World has been selling donated items at affordable prices in an effort to reduce textile waste and support local non-profit partners, according to its website. It has since expanded to 10 retail locations across Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri, an export business and an e-commerce store.
