Kansas City, Missouri – September is a reminder that emergencies rarely arrive on a convenient schedule. A severe storm, power outage or other unexpected event can quickly turn an ordinary day into one that requires a plan, supplies and reliable information.
Kansas City is using National Preparedness Month to urge residents to prepare before that moment comes. The annual nationwide campaign, led by FEMA’s Ready Campaign, has encouraged individuals, families and communities to take practical emergency-preparedness steps since 2004.
