Communication is key, as proved with a recent painting contract to cover graffiti along the back wall of a business on Independence Avenue. When the error was discovered on Sept. 9, “East Winds”, a mural depicting a dragon kite, a pagoda and pandas munching bamboo, had been nearly covered over with new paint, instead of the intended graffiti-covered wall.
This joint project of the Indian Mound Neighborhood Association (IMNA) and the Northeast Chamber of Commerce (NEKCCoC) utilized funding from a Neighborhood Empowerment Grant, specified for the creation of a mural along the eastern wall of Furniture La Caudra at 5500 Independence Avenue…
