MISSION, Kan. (KCTV) – As the foreclosure process continues on the site of the former Mission Mall, new documents reveal a developer is exploring the next chapter of the area.
The City of Mission announced Wednesday that the stalled Mission Gateway site has a potential future thanks to an agreement with the R.H. Johnson Company. The agreement, which “contemplates the acquisition of the former Mission Mall site,” is dependent upon the current foreclosure proceedings which are playing out in Johnson County District Court.
“The acquisition remains dependent on the outcome and completion of that legal process, and the timing is uncertain and outside the City’s control,” the City of Mission said Wednesday. “While there are still important steps ahead, the involvement of a new, local development team represents meaningful progress for a property that has been the subject of prior redevelopment efforts that ultimately failed.”…
