KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Starlight Theatre announced Tuesday its plans for four shows to be featured next summer as well as additional ways to see each of them.
In 2027, Starlight will offer matinee performances on Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m.
This year’s show schedule is as follows:
- The Wiz: June 15-20
- A groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz features an iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock and ‘70s fun and includes the story of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world. The Tony Award-winning Best Musical will be at Starlight to kick off the summer of shows.
- Les Miserables: July 6-11, 2027
- One of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history, Les Miserables comes to Kansas City in July. It tells a story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion and sacrifice.
- Mary Poppins: August 3-8, 2027
- One of the most popular Disney movies of all time now comes to Starlight as a musical.
- & Juliet: Sept. 28-Oct. 3, 2027
- A flipped script on the greatest love story ever told, & Juliet imagines what would happen next if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo.
