KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Two people from the Kansas City area were sentenced in federal court for their roles in an implant kickback scheme.
Federal prosecutors said Dr. Jason Montone, 50, a surgeon in Lawson, Mo., accepted kickbacks from a company called SpineFrontier to use spinal implants made by the company.
Montone pleaded guilty to conspiracy and other related crimes in 2020. A federal judge sentenced Montone to a year of supervised release. He is also required to forfeit $379,000 in consulting fees associated with the scheme…
