FORECAST: FIRST WARN Tuesday as widespread showers, fog fall across the metro

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – An upper-level low-pressure system accompanied by a weak cold front is producing wet weather from the metro south this morning and a winery mix to our northern counties is starting up around St. Joe clear to the Iowa border. In these locations, a winter weather advisory is in place until 12 this afternoon. Wet and slick conditions will be common throughout all areas and with some locations still dealing with melting snow and ice, a slushy condition may ensue on the roadways or your neighborhood streets. Adding insult to injury, dense fog is beginning to build across the region. Visibility at 1 mile or less will be scattered throughout the area this morning, and may potentially build even into the early afternoon. With low visibility and hazardous roadway conditions, it will be a challenge to navigate today. On a lighter note, temperatures are expected to rise. This morning we are hovering around the freezing mark ranging between 30° and 34° with high temperatures expected in the upper 30s and lower 40s this afternoon.
