Family settles with Liberty nursing home after man found dead outside

LIBERTY, Mo. — The family of a 79-year-old man who died outside a Kansas City-area nursing home agreed to a settlement Thursday in Clay County court in their wrongful death lawsuit.

As FOX4 first reported last November , Bradford Williams’ family sued Liberty Health and Wellness after their father was wheeled into the nursing home’s courtyard and left there for hours on a hot August day in 2022.

By the time the nursing home found him, Williams had fallen out of his wheelchair and was dead.

Williams’ surviving children agreed to a confidential settlement with the nursing home’s owners who, according to terms of the settlement, acknowledged no wrongdoing.

The Wiliams’ case was one of four wrongful death suits that the owners, which include Goldner Capital Management and Sam Goldner, have had filed against them in the last three years.
