Chiefs’ Andy Reid says Kadarius Toney injury not ‘made up’ after receiver’s rant

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid rejected the notion that the team was lying about receiver Kadarius Toney’s injury status.

Toney, the polarizing ex-Giants first-round draft pick, was ruled out for the Chiefs’ AFC Championship game win over the Ravens with a hip injury and for personal reasons.

But Toney subsequently posted an expletive-laden rant on his Instagram on Sunday morning suggesting that he was healthy and the Chiefs were not being truthful about his availability.

“Yeah, well, obviously he’s been on the injury report,” Reid said Monday about that suggestion. “So that part, that’s not made up by any means. But he’s been working through some things and he’ll be back out there [at practice].”
