Silver Alert canceled after 68-year-old Independence man found safe

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol reporters Wesley Wilkes has been located and is safe.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Endangered Silver Advisory Wednesday afternoon for a missing 68-year-old man.

Wesley “Clay” Wilkes was last seen leaving his residence at 17009 E. Courtney Atherton Road at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 in Independence, Missouri.

According to the sheriff’s office, he seemed disoriented from ongoing medical issues. He uses a feeding tube and is without required nutrition shakes.

He is described as standing 6’1″ and weighs 125 pounds. He has gray hair, blue eyes and a large surgical scar across his throat.

His vehicle is described as a blue 2005 Dodge Dakota bearing Missouri license 3DBJ43.
