L’Jarius Sneed sandwich at Zarda Bar-B-Q raising money for a good cause

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs’ cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has made an incredible difference on the field this postseason but he’s making more of an impact in our community.

Sneed, with Zarda Bar-B-Q and Hy-Vee have been selling “ The KC Takeaway ” with proceeds from the sales going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City.

“This being our third year, we’re probably going to make contributions over $50,000 by the time this third year’s done,” Zarda owner Terry Hyer said. “As the Chiefs get in the playoffs, with every win, the KC Takeaway, is a little bigger, a little bigger, a little bigger.”

“The first layer is Kansas City hand cut burnt ends, his favorite cheese is pepper jack cheese, layer that, pulled pork, more pepper jack cheese, thin sliced ham, his favorite sauce drizzled on a toasted Roma bun,” Hyer said. “It’s heaven on a bun.”

The sandwich and charity were all Sneed’s idea.

“Last year I used my cleats, to a cause for [Big Brothers Big Sisters], but this year I’m using this sandwich,” Sneed said. “I know everyone loves food and everyone loves Bar-B-Q in Kansas City. It’s something I always wanted to do for the community and give back to kids, I wish I had it when I was little.”
