KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Forensic specialists have identified skeletal remains found in Kansas City’s eastside in 2022.
Kansas City police said Kevin Dewayne Cochran was found dead in October 2022 near E. 30th Terrace and Van Brunt Boulevard. Officials said the 35-year-old was from Oklahoma.

At the time the remains were discovered, KCPD said detectives believed the remains may have been there for several months.
A private company that uses forensic genetics genealogy was able to identify Cochran’s remains.
A spokesperson for KCPD said the case is considered a death investigation with no apparent signs of foul play.
However, the medical examiner has not completed a ruling on Cochran’s cause of death.
