Police ID victim killed in Tuesday night Kansas City, Kansas, crash

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department has identified the person killed in a head-on crash Tuesday night.

KCKPD identified the victim Thursday as 47-year-old Tommy A. Molden Jr., a resident of KCK.

Police responded to the crash just after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the area of North 18th Street and Tauromee Avenue .

When police officers arrived on scene, they found several wrecked vehicles and multiple people injured.

KCKPD said the driver of one vehicle was speeding south on 18th Street when he attempted to pass the vehicle in front of him and struck a northbound vehicle head on.

The driver of the passing vehicle, identified as Molden, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Police said the driver of the northbound vehicle was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
