One dead, one hospitalized after car crash leads to shooting in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person is dead and one is injured after a shooting in Kansas City early Monday morning.

The shooting happened just after 2:00 a.m. near 39th and Woodland. Kansas City Police said it started as a report about gunshots after a crash.

KCPD said several people were at the intersection because of a non-injury crash. There was an argument at the scene of the crash and it led into a shooting.

Two people were shot, and one of them died at the scene. The other was taken to a hospital, according to KCPD.

Police have not released any of the victims’ names yet, and the department is asking for tips. If anyone has a tip that leads to an arrest, you could get a reward of up to $25,000.
