A prison escapee was captured Thursday more than a week after failing to return to a Gardner residential center. Kansas Department of Corrections officials said in a statement John Evans Johnson, Jr., was taken into custody by Kansas City, Kan., Police Department earlier that morning. Johnson was arrested on the KDOC escape warrant without incident.
