LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (KCTV) – A jury convicted a Leavenworth man of reckless driving and other charges while trying to escape arrest. Court documents show neighbors called Leavenworth police when Carl Thomas Sands, of Kansas City, Missouri, and two other people showed up at a property on 207th Street in Leavenworth County. The owner of the property had previously died and neighbors said Sands did not know the man.
