Driver & Puppy Dead From Explosive Car Crash in Missouri

Tragedy struck in Kansas City, Missouri, as a fatal crash left a driver and a puppy dead. The incident unfolded at the intersection of East 27th Street and Prospect Avenue, where a black GMC Yukon was speeding westbound. The driver lost control of the vehicle, veering off the road and colliding with utility poles.

Driver and puppy pronounced dead after car crashes and bursts into flames

On late Saturday afternoon, Apr. 6, the GMC SUV first collided with a large wooden utility pole, then with a metal utility pole, as KSHB 41 News reports. Subsequently, the vehicle exploded upon impact. Moreover, the debris damaged three other vehicles at a nearby red traffic light at the intersection of 27th and Prospect.

Consequently, the driver of the GMC was pronounced dead at the scene by the authorities. Additionally, the accident ejected the puppy sitting inside the car, who also died at the scene.

The incident resulted in no other injuries. However, the collision led to a power outage in the area. Thus, Evergy actively worked to restore power to affected customers.
