Woman critically injured in crash on I-435 and Truman Road: police

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department responded to a one-car crash on Wednesday morning that left a woman hospitalized with critical injuries.

Police said the woman was traveling north in an SUV on Interstate 435 when a pickup truck was speeding and cut across all lanes to take the Truman Road exit.

KCPD investigating double shooting at Northland Thriftway

A witness told police they were not sure if the truck hit the SUV or not, but the SUV lost control on the exit ramp, causing it to run off the roadway and overturn multiple times.

The woman was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the SUV, police said.

She was taken to a local hospital and is reported to have critical injuries.

The identity of the person driving the truck is still unknown, but police said they did not stop after the crash.
