LENEXA, Kan. (KCTV) – Cities across Kansas united Saturday with a mission of defending democracy.
Lenexa protesters joined a statewide movement called Free State Days, they said is aimed to save democracy, stop Project 2025, and restore fundamental rights. Over the span of one week, what started as a small movement of three women in Lenexa grew to more than 1,200 people, according to organizers. Their causes vary, but they said their goal of defending democracy is the same.
“I heard someone say once that you belong here if you’re worried about someone that you don’t know, and I think you can say that about everyone who’s out here today,” said protester Susan Norris.
Norris is among those who said they are making noise with a narrative. She said she is advocating both for herself and others…
