Platte County Sheriff reviews procedures after multiple inmates overdose in jail

PLATTE CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Overdoses at the Platte County Jail has the sheriff’s department reviewing operating procedures.

A spokesperson for the office confirmed multiple inmates overdosed on drugs the week of April 14. The overdoses happened among inmates housed in two specific units, according to the office.

Staff searched cells in those units and seized contraband and other prohibited items. After removing the contraband from the housing units, there have been no additional overdoses according to the sheriff’s office…
