Patient allegedly stabs paramedic to death while riding in ambulance to hospital

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WKRC) – A paramedic was allegedly stabbed and killed by a patient during an ambulance ride to the hospital just days after the patient was released from prison from biting a police officer.

According to police accounts obtained by KSHB, paramedics responded to a welfare check at around 1 a.m. on April 27 regarding a woman, identified as 39-year-old Shanetta Boswell, who was walking down the highway while bleeding from her hand profusely.

Boswell reportedly refused help from police or the ambulance at first, but eventually relented. While on route, Boswell reportedly began attacking the paramedics with a knife. Police escorting the vehicle from behind said they noticed it swerve off of the road and the driver jump out to help his coworker in the back while shouting that the patient had a knife…
