Crews found body during search of apartment fire in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating after a body was found in an apartment fire in Kansas City, Missouri.

Just before 9a.m. Monday, crews responded to a reported fire at a home in the 4000 block of Stateline, according to Battalion Chief Michael Hopkins.

On arrival crews reported smoke and fire from the second floor of a two-story home that had been converted to apartments. KCFD received reports of someone possibly inside the structure. Searches of the structure. During the search a victim was located.
