Paul Rudd runs and wins in Royals’ Hot Dog Derby

Kansas City Royals fans got more than just baseball over the weekend. Hollywood actor and Kansas City native Paul Rudd made a surprise appearance at Kauffman Stadium — and even joined a fan-favorite tradition.

A Surprise Star in the Hot Dog Derby

At every Royals home game, three fans dress up as hot dog toppings — ketchup, mustard and relish — and race in the fan-favorite Hot Dog Derby.

On Saturday, Rudd suited up as ketchup and joined the race, drawing cheers from the crowd. In true Hollywood fashion, he won.

Royals Fall to Tigers

Despite the extra entertainment, the Royals couldn’t pull off a win. The team lost 1-0 to the Detroit Tigers.

Big Slick Weekend Brings Celebrities Home
