KCK man sentenced following high-speed pursuit in Leavenworth County

LEAVENWORTH COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) – A Kansas City, Kansas, man has been sentenced for his role in a high-speed pursuit last August in Leavenworth County.

Thirty-two-year-old Brandon S. Alvis was sentenced Friday, June 6, to more than five years in prison. He was convicted by a jury in May of three counts of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and one count of flee or attempt to elude.

The charges followed an Aug. 5, 2024, police chase that happened at approximately 2:40 a.m., when a Tonganoxie police officer attempted a traffic stop on a car near State Avenue and Main Street. Court documents said the driver drove away from police eastbound and ran a red light…
