Woman charged after high-speed chase ends in crash near Blue Ridge Cutoff

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City woman has been charged with multiple felonies after leading police on a pursuit and causing a high-speed crash that resulted in life-threatening injuries.

Court documents filed in Jackson County on Thursday said Kenyasha Hansen was charged with aggravated fleeing a stop or detention causing physical injury and second-degree assault.

The Independence Police Department said officers originally attempted to stop Hansen after she was going 53 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone. Hansen originally stopped her Buick but sped away from an officer after they exited their vehicle near Truman Road and Northern Boulevard…
