Woman drowns after mower she was riding rolls into a Kansas City creek

A woman died after the mower she was on tumbled into Brush Creek over the weekend, police and fire officials said.

The accidental drowning occurred about 1:35 p.m. Saturday near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Prospect Avenue, Capt. Jake Becchina, a spokesman for the Kansas City Police Department.
