Construction worker dies after being struck by car, driver in custody after leaving scene

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – First responders confirmed one person died Wednesday morning after they were struck by a car in Kansas City’s Northland.

Police said a construction worker was hit at the intersection of Barry Road and Boardwalk Avenue just after 10:40 a.m.

The worker had been repaving asphalt.

Police told KCTV5 that a woman in an SUV had struck the worker and continued driving, leaving the scene and going home. She was taken into custody about 30 minutes later…
