KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Lakeside Speedway is one of the oldest sports traditions in the Kansas City metro.
The track celebrated their 70th anniversary on Friday, making it older than both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals.

“It’s real neat,” said owner Don Marrs. “Any kind of enterprise can last that long, I mean, it’s just so many of the tracks, you know, haven’t made it. There are some older tracks in the country, but not very many.”
