JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.—Missouri’s Division of Fire Safety (DFS) reports that three people died during Independence Day celebrations between July 3 and July 4.
“Tragically, we have seen more fires, explosions, injuries and deaths this July 4th holiday that appear to be related to fireworks than any other Independence Day holiday in recent memory,” said Tim Bean, State Fire Marshal. “Many people fail to understand the risk involved in fireworks because they can be purchased them at retail stores and stands.”
A 47-year-old man died in Joplin during the afternoon of July 3. A shed exploded in the 2500 block of south Virginia Avenue and DFS said they’ve not ruled out fireworks as the cause. A young female was also injured…
