NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If the Royals are looking to move to Clay County, county leaders may now be able to offer them something Jackson County voters rejected.
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe was in North Kansas City Friday evening to sign House Bill 199.It allows Clay County to create a Sports Complex Authority. The measure will allow Clay County to put a stadium sales tax to a vote, similar to the one Jackson County voters rejected last year.
Friday, Clay County Commissioner Jason Withington also confirmed to FOX4 the Kansas City Royals submitted a term sheet to Clay County just before the Fourth of July.
