This morning just before 6 am, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of E 89th on a reported Sound of Shots call. While officers were enroute an additional call for a shooting was reported at an apartment complex.
When officers arrived to the area they were summoned to an apartment where an individual on scene stated a man had been shot. Officers entered the apartment and located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. They immediately began rendering medical aid until EMS arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital with life threatening injuries. The victim was declared deceased at the hospital as a result of his injuries.
We do not currently have any preliminary information to suggest what led up to the shooting and we do not have anyone on police custody. It does appear the incident occurred outside in the roadway and did not occur inside of an apartment residence…
