KCPD responds to fatal shooting near several nonprofit buildings

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Police have opened an investigation after a shooting took the life of at least one person near several Kansas City nonprofits.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says that around 4:35 p.m., emergency crews were called to the area of E. 9th and Benton Blvd., near Catholic Charities and the Grace United Community Ministries Food Distribution Center, with reports of a shooting.

When first responders arrived, they said they were directed to the intersection of 8th and Benton, where a man was found to be suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene…
