KANSAS CITY, Kan. — On Monday, family, friends and many in the metro will gather to honor the life of fallen Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Deputy Elijah Ming at Children’s Mercy Park.
Investigators say Deputy Ming was shot and killed on July 26th while responding to a call near 30th and Shawnee in Kansas City, Kansas.
A woman had called police requesting law enforcement to accompany her as she moved out of a home. Police say as Ming approached the home — a suspect identified as 38-year-old Shawn Harris shot him from inside the house.
