Metro flying squadrons to do one last flight before rotary-wing deactivation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City’s Chinook helicopters will do one last flight around the metro before being discontinued.

The Army Reserve Aviation Command has been ordered to de-activate all rotary-wing units and assets in accordance with the Army Transformation Initiative.

Bravo Company 7-158th GSAB will be doing a final formation flight to honor soldiers, retirees and families of B/7-158 on September 7, 2025, at 10 a.m. It will be leaving from the New Century Air Center in Gardner, Kansas, and flying around the south Kansas City area…
