KCPD: Man wounded in officer shooting threatened them with a knife

KANSAS CITY— Sheriff’s deputies were involved in a shooting on Saturday afternoon in the 5200 block of North Oak Trafficway in Kansas City, Missouri. The deputies were unharmed, and the individual they shot had non life-threatening injuries.

Aaron M. Perez-Engel, 38, has been charged with first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action in the incident, according to a statement from the Clay County Sheriff’s office. Perez-Engel is being held in the Clay County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
