BREAKING — Just after 8:40 p.m., this evening, Sept. 4, Kansas City Fire Department (KCFD) crews dispatched to the 5100 block of St. John Ave., within the Indian Mound neighborhood on a fire reported by a KCFD suppression company.
While it was initially believed the fire ignited inside a church building near the dispatch location, it was discovered the source of the flames were coming from a three-story structure just east of the church on St. John Avenue, according to a release from Riley Nolan, KCFD battalion chief and public information officer, Thursday evening.
Crews performed a working fire response as well as initiated an offensive fire attack…
