KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A court filing late last week has added 16 charges against the owner of Metro Towing.
According to court documents filed in Jackson County on Sept. 4, Donald Adamson, the owner of Metro Towing, now faces 25 charges. On Monday, a criminal summons was issued for Adamson, who in April and May was charged with crimes in both Jackson and Platte counties, is now accused of deceptive business practices.
Adamson’s additional 16 charges are as follows:
- 4 counts of stealing a motor vehicle/watercraft/aircraft
- 2 counts of forgery
- 1 count of first-degree harassment
- 9 counts of deceptive business practices
Court documents say Adamson was “towing motor vehicles, knowingly and with the intent to defraud, made a misrepresentation of material fact to (redacted) by charging towing and/or storage fees in excess of the maximum amounts permitted by the City of Kansas City, Missouri Code of Ordinances as a condition of releasing towed vehicles.”
