Kansas City aquarium seeks community input on name for new turtle

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A Kansas City aquarium has called on the community to help name its newest endangered resident.

Kansas City’s SEA LIFE Aquarium says it’s looking for a name for its newest addition – a Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, one of the most endangered species.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Kemp’s ridley turtles are the smallest in the world. Once with a population of tens of thousands of nesting females, the species declined to fewer than 250 in 1985…
