Wayside Waifs in Kansas City, Missouri, had something special planned that day. The shelter was hosting a 19-hour adoption marathon, aiming to connect as many animals as possible with loving families.
From the moment the doors opened, the shelter was alive with energy. Families wandered through, stopping to meet wagging tails, curious noses, and hopeful eyes.
Dogs, cats, and even a few guinea pigs all had their chance to win hearts. One by one, animals were adopted, leaving the building filled with the joyful chaos of new collars, smiling faces, and adoption papers being signed.
By the end of the day, the numbers were in, 203 animals had found families. The shelter’s mission had been a success in every way.
