Kansas woman gets probation after deadly hit-and-run in KU cancer center garage

A judge granted probation to a Kansas City, Kansas, woman who ran over and killed a 94-year-old man in the University of Kansas Cancer Center parking garage last year.

Kelsi Ann Carmack, 25, pleaded guilty in June to one felony count of failing to stop at an accident that resulted in a death.

Last week, Johnson County District Judge Niel B. Foth sentenced Carmack to two years and seven months in prison, but ordered her to serve three years of probation instead. If she violates the terms of her probation, she could be required to serve the prison sentence…
